Our Mission

The Society for Piping Engineers and Designers (SPED) is an international society established to promote excellence and quality in the practice of piping engineering and design. SPED emphasizes education and training to achieve the most effective engineering discipline possible.

The Plant Design and Piping discipline uses software such as PDS and Caesar II made by companies such as Intergraph and Coade. Using these tools, SPED members make engineering deliverables such as 3D CAD models, isometrics, plot plans, equipment arrangements, and pipe material takeoff. Our site offers technical guidance, aids to finding jobs in the engineering field, and engineering reference materials.
